Hair loss is not just common in men, but women also experience it. However unlike men, instead of bald patches and a receding hairline, women’s hair tend to thin as they get older. This happens with around 20-40% of women.
Hair transplants are becoming more common with women nowadays, as any signs of loss of hair generally tend to be more important than it is for men. Hair transplant procedures can be either for transplanting hair to the top of the head from the back, or reducing overall thinness on the head.
The advantages of having a hair transplant is mainly on a cosmetic basis. Having a wig isn’t usually a very viable option since there is a possibility the wig could come off. This is why more women prefer to have hair transplants.
